Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
Synonymous with greatness, those fortunate enough to have seen Bobby Orr in action during his all-too-brief Hall of Fame career will understand and appreciate the way the Parry Sound wunderkind completely revolutionized the game, becoming the game’s first blueliner to focus on offence as much as defence. The winner of eight (8) straight Norris Trophy’s, Orr would also add the Calder Memorial, Conn Smythe (x2), Hart Memorial (x3) and Art Ross (x2) Trophies to his awards showcase during his career along with two (2) Stanley Cup’s and become one of the biggest and most marketable stars the National Hockey League had ever seen up to that point. Still one of the most collected players in the game today, offered here, we present this group of nine (9) Bobby Orr graded cards from O-Pee-Chee, Topps and other brands that date from 1967-68 to 1988-89. Paced by copies of Orr's 1967-68 Topps "All-Star (#128) and "Calder Memorial Trophy Winner" (#118) cards that have been assessed marks of VG-EX 4 and PR 1 respectively by PSA, also included is a copy of Orr's 1970-71 O-Pee-Chee "All-Star" card (#236) which sports a PSA grade of EX 5 over its label at the top of the holder the card is housed in. For the rest of the lot, included are Orr's releases 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee (#227 - "1st Team Defense" example that pictures him with Brad Park - PSA EX-MT 6), 1974-75 O-Pee-Chee (#100 - KSA VGE 4), 1974-75 Topps (#28 - "Bruins Leaders" - KSA NGM 9.5), 1975-76 O-Pee-Chee (#288 - All-Star - KSA EX 5), 1975-76 O-Pee-Chee (#210 - Scoring Leaders - KSA NM+ 7.5) and 1988-89 Esso All-Stars (KSA NGM 9.5). All housed in either PSA or KSA holders that are found to be in overall good condition but show some scratches and scuffs that are worth mentioning for accuracy, don't miss out on this lot for your all-important collection!
