Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
In the 1960s and 70s, there was a player who defied the very limits of what was thought
possible on the ice. His slapshot was a weapon that changed the game forever. This was Bobby
Hull, a player whose speed earned him the nickname “The Golden Jet” and made him a living
legend, feared by opponents and revered by fans alike. He accomplished basically everything
you could in the NHL, from scoring titles to the Stanley Cup, and his reputation only grew when
he signed the largest contract in professional sports history at the time, leaving an indelible
legacy on the hockey world.
And now, a piece of that legacy is here. This classic Daoust skate, adorned with
Hull’s signature in elegant gold marker across the outside of the boot, serves as a timeless
tribute to his brilliance. The skate is further distinguished by several key annotations: “The
Golden Jet,” “NHL Top 100,” “HOF 1983,” and “118.3 MPH”, all penned by Hull himself, making
reference to some of his distinguished accomplishments in the NHL. Next to the signature is
also an NHL players sticker that was placed on the boot. The skate remains in excellent condition with no major signs of damage outside from the natural aging the old boot has experienced over the years. A JSA Basic Cert will accompany with the matching JSA sticker affixed to the back of the skate.
