Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
Coached by Toronto Maple Leafs legend Turk Broda, the Toronto Marlboros boasted a talented squad comprised of numerous future NHL stars during the mid-1950s, with the club winning consecutive Memorial Cup championships in 1955 and 1956 as the junior hockey champions of Canada. Featuring Bob Pulford, Gary Aldcorn, Gary Collins, Billy Harris, Bobby Baun and others, we have a team photo of the 1954-55 Marlboros from the personal collection of multi-Stanley Cup winner Bobby Baun, along with his 1955 and 1956 OHA and Memorial Cup medals and two Memorial Cup charms. The photo by Turofsky is approx 6 1/2" x 10 1/2", affixed to a larger 12" x 14" mount with the players listed beneath the photo. The medals include two with enamel Ontario coat of arms and OHA, with raised player and "Marlboros Champions" and "Bobby Baun" engraved on the reverse - with one for 1955, the other for 1956, along with "Memorial Cup" medals with raised player and "CAHA', with the same text as the other medals on the reverse - again with one for 1955 and the other 1956. All four medals also have small sections of ribbons attached. The charms are two small mini Memorial Cups, designed to be attached to a chain or bracelet. All items remain in beautiful condition with no issues. An LOA from the Baun family will accompany.
