Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
Highlighted by original circa-1957 production artwork by noted artist Jack Reppen (1933-64) that features rookies Bobby Baun along with Frank Mahovlich, we offer a group of prints/lithos that hail from Baun's personal collection. The Reppen artwork is 15" x 17 1/2", with mounted images of the two players in cameo, with production notes within the bottom right. This was most likely used for publication within a program or newspaper. There is some minor discolouration/spotting to note. The other items in the lot include a framed print by Julia Conlon entitled "First Skate" signed by Bill Gadsby and framed to just over 18" x 22" (PP 1/45), along with a second Conlon print entitled "Showdown", signed by Rejean Houle and framed to just over 22" x 29" (71/450). There is also a group of 45 matching Ben Wilson prints from 1966 that depict Baun during his days working for Alex Irvine Motors (16" x 20"). Lastly, there is a group of 3 Steve Houston "On Top of the World" Toronto Blue Jays 1992 World Series prints signed by the artist, with limited-edition numbers of "716/1992", "790/1992" and "792/1992" (20 1/2" x 28 1/2", light wear to the group). An LOA from the Baun family will accompany.
