Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Taking the reins of the Minnesota North Stars in 1990-91 after his playing days concluded, Bob Gainey would serve as head coach and guide the club to the Stanley Cup finals during his first season. The 1979 Conn Smythe winner would then add general manager to his resume in 1992, and after relocating to Dallas in 1993, he would lead the franchise to a Stanley Cup championship, in 1999. Awarded for Dallas’ status as Western Conference playoff champions in 1998-99, we have the Clarence Campbell championship trophy originally presented to the legendary Hall of Fame member. At 11” in height, the silver-plated handled cup with removable lid and chased detailing sits atop a hexagon-shaped 3-inch wooden base and is engraved “Bob Gainey – Dallas Stars – 1998-99” on one side, with the name of the trophy and its "1968" year of inception on the other. Absolutely stunning with just a tiny bit of surface wear along the middle rim mentioned for complete accuracy, the trophy displays magnificently, and remains in gorgeous high-grade condition. Originating from his personal collection, a signed LOA from Bob Gainey will accompany.
