Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Fantastic photo-matched Red Wings gamer from the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals against the New Jersey Devils was worn by forward Bob Errey. A two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Errey was reunited with his junior teammate Steve Yzerman when he joined Detroit in the mid-1990s. The 1995 Stanley Cup Finals patch is sewn on the right breast of his No. 21 air-knit jersey with tackle twill numbers on the sleeves and back and arched surname letters sewn directly onto the jersey. CCM and size 52 flag tags hang in the neck and the Red Wings’ “95 Playoffs” logo with the Winged Wheel over the Stanley Cup is heat-screened inside the rear hem. CCM and NHL logos are embroidered on the right rear hem. Errey’s gamer is photo-matched by June 17, 1995 (Game 1 of the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals) Getty Images #185872233 to the dark black mark on the top of the number "2" on the left sleeve, to the black mark located at the end of the middle area tip of the team's crest on the right side and to the black mark located in the bottom area of the white striping near the red elbow threading below the number "21" on the right sleeve. And according to the included MeiGray LOA, the jersey is also video-matched to the second period of Game 2 of the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals. More game wear shows in loads of black marks on the front, both sleeves, and back, particularly the left side of the back and below the numbers. There is an unrepaired vertical hole on the left breast just below the yoke seam and there is some blue paint transfer to the left of that. There are holes in a vertical board burn to its right that has not torn all the way through and board burns on both sleeves. A MeiGray COR is included along with the LOA.
