Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
Named as his team's best defenseman in 1975, 1979 and 1981, two-time NHL All-Star Bob Dailey skated in the world's premier league for just under a decade beginning in 1973-74 with Vancouver. Prior to his career in the NHL, Dailey helped lead the Toronto Marlboros to a Memorial Cup championship in 1972-73, where he scored 64 points in 60 games that season, along with another 20 points in just 16 playoff games. This 10K gold and diamond ring was presented to Dailey for his status as a 1972-73 Memorial Cup champion. Size 10 with an approx weight of 19 grams, the ring features a diamond inserted into a Marlboros crown motif on the tableau, with "Memorial Cup Champions" surrounding the bezel in raised and slanted letters. The right shank has an image of the Memorial Cup with a pair of crowns placed above, while the left shank sports a Marlboros' crown set into a Canadian maple leaf with "1973" below and "Marlboros" above. The inner band has a facsimile signature engraved along with "10K" stamped. The ring shows wear from use with a number of small dings to edges and scratches to the band. There is also some additional wear from rubbing to the shanks and letters over the bezel, with the band slightly misshapen.
