Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction November 2024
Scoring a then career high 80 points in 70 games during the 2019-20 NHL season, including 47 goals, Auston Matthews would also make his fourth-consecutive All-Star appearance during the campaign. Offered here, is this stick used by the Leafs centerman during a portion of that season. A Warrior Alpha DX model with “Matthews” factory graphics, Matthews’ original white tape is in place over the blade, with a Lizard Skins grip over the knob along with a handwritten “34” and a hand-drawn cross. Blacked out over the lower shaft, a commonly seen customization done by Auston to his sticks in this era, light to moderate game-use is visible, with puck marks and wear to the taped section of the blade along with a few marks/abrasions to the shaft and lower shaft. Matthews used this model for only a short amount of time during the 2019-20 season including a single game on February 27, 2020 against Florida.
