Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2025
Finishing second overall behind the Montreal Canadiens, the Toronto Maple Leafs were led in offense by Frank Mahovlich in 1961-62, with Johnny Bower winning 31 games. The blue and white would defeat the Rangers in six games before battling Bobby Hull and the Chicago Black Hawks in the Stanley Cup finals. This Chicago Stadium ticket stub hails from the Cup-clinching Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals played on April 22, 1962, and it has been graded GOOD 2 by PSA. Won by the Leafs 2-1, with the Golden Jet scoring the lone Black Hawks goal and Dick Duff netting the game winner assisted by Tim Horton and George Armstrong, the stub lists "2nd Playoff Series" along with "3" for the third game played in Chicago (Games 3, 4 and 6 were played in Chicago). There is some wear including an uneven tear along with a hole punched, with a small tear on the reverse. Only five tickets from this match have passed through the doors at PSA, with this a population 3 highest graded.
