Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Advancing throughout the 2014 Stanley Cup playoffs by beating Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and finally Montreal in the Conference finals, the New York Rangers were finally defeated by the Los Angeles Kings in the Stanley Cup final. A four-time Stanley Cup champion with the Islanders in the 1980s as a player, Anders Kallur served as a scout post-career in the New York Rangers organization focusing on European prospects. For the team's status as Eastern Conference playoffs champions, members of the Rangers received miniature Prince of Wales trophies to commemorate their fine campaign, with recipient “Anders Kallur” engraved along with "Prince of Wales Trophy" on a metal plaque applied to one side of the 2-inch high wooden base, while engraving on a second plaque over the reverse reads "NHL Champions – New York Rangers – 2013-14". Four silver-plated hockey sticks rise up from the base to support a cup with removable lid, giving the award a total height of 12". The trophy displays wonderfully, sporting a light even coat of oxidation, with just a few small blemishes visible. Hailing from Anders Kallur's personal collection, an LOA from Classic Auctions will accompany.
