Nicknamed "The Answer", Allen Iverson would play fourteen (14) seasons in the National Basketball Association with the likes of Philadelphia, Denver, Detroit and Memphis after being drafted first (1st) overall by the 76ers at the 1996 NBA Draft. Named the league's "Rookie of the Year" in 1997, Iverson would be named an all-star eleven (11) times, he won the All-Star Game MVP award in 2001 and 2005, and was the NBA's Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2001. Regarded as one of the game's greatest scorers, ball handlers, guards, and one of the most influential athletes in American sports, "AI" would be inducted into the hallowed halls of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. Offered here, we present this pair of sneakers worn by Iverson during the 2005 NBA All-Star Weekend. Reebok ATR Pump model kicks in an All-Star red, white and blue colourway, "RBK" is embroidered into the reverse heel of each shoe while a velcro strap that has had a patch reading "Iverson" appears over the front ankle portion. Also sporting small Iverson "I3" personal logos at the top and the base of each tongue, each shoe is labeled as being a size "10 1/2" on the inside of the tongue. Retaining both the original insoles and laces, the shoes have been signed by Iverson over both toe boxes with black marker ink signatures that display well despite light fading from age. Showing just very light evidence of wear via a few light marks/scuffs, the shoes hail from the personal collection of former NBA star and current NBA/NCAA analyst Marc Jackson, who received the shoes directly from Iverson himself, and are accompanied by his signed LOA as well as a JSA Auction LOA for the signatures.
