Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Adam Oates’ 1994-95 Boston Bruins game-worn alternate captain’s jersey from his personal collection is the one the Hall of Fame center wore for the Bruins’ final playoff game ever at Boston Garden. The Bruins lost 3-2 to the New Jersey Devils on May 14, 1995 in the last NHL playoff game at the venerable arena, which hosted one more game that fall, a pre-season game against Montreal billed “The Last Hurrah” on Sept. 26, 1995 with a postgame ceremony featuring many former Bruins greats that saw the team’s banners and retired numbers removed. Adam’s number “12” is handwritten on the CCM flag tag in the neck along with a size “52” flag tag. The alternate captain’s “A” is sewn on the left breast and the fight strap was cut off which is typical on Oates gamers. CCM and NHL shield logos are embroidered on the right rear hem. Game wear shows in black marks on the front tail, including a diagonal mark on the right front and another pair of marks on the hem, and a black mark and unrepaired burn hole on the right sleeve, and another unrepaired hole on the left sleeve. Comes with Adam Oates’ signed LOA.
