Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
It is now five (5) NHL scoring titles (and counting!) for Connor McDavid after the swiftest thing on skates dazzled for much of the 2022-2023 season, establishing career highs for goals (64), assists (89) and points (153) to once again cop the Art Ross Trophy, marking McDavid’s third scoring crown in a row. Connor's 2015-16 Upper Deck RC is a must-have for a McDavid collection or portfolio, with this example of card #201 deserving of 10 PRISTINE status in the eyes of Beckett. With the cards subgrades (Centering, Corners, Edges and Surface) all earning perfect marks of "10" as well, the seldomly seen black coloured label from the company is found at the top of the holder to distinguish it as a perfect card all the way around and in every sense of the term. The first one ever offered here at Classic Auctions, McDavid, seen as the world's best hockey player by many, continues to lead the Edmonton Oilers and look towards a bright future with the potential of his various rookie and other cards appearing grandiose. When taking a look at Beckett's Population Report, over 10,000 examples of the McDavid's key rookie offering have bene submitted to and examined by the company since its release, with only thirty-five (35) having ever had the "PRISTINE" black label designation bestowed upon them, accounting for 0.3% of all submitted! With the Beckett holder found to be in excellent condition overall with just a couple of small imperfections over both sides that are worth mentioning for accuracy, the lucky winning bidder will surely be pleased with this premium McDavid rookie offering!
