Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/16/2009
The finest goaltender in the history of the game used this catching glove and blocker during the 1991-92 NHL season while with the Canadiens. Red, white and blue custom-made Brian’s trapper shows heavy use and has the maker’s logo embroidered onto the cuff above the stitched name "Patrick Roy". The pocket is littered with black puck marks and has a lengthy, stitched repair on the palm. This style has been photo referenced to numerous action pics of Roy during the 1991-92 season. The well-worn mitt was originally obtained from a sports equipment repair man who was contracted to work on Montreal Canadiens equipment during the early Nineties. Will come with a letter of authenticity.
