Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009

A stellar example of Wayne Gretzky's trusty Titan TPM 2020 from the 1986-87 championship year, probably used during post-season play. Wayne's 34-point performance over 21 playoff tilts sealed the deal as the Oilers rolled over Philly for their third Stanley Cup win. This one has the stamped "W. Gretzky" up near the knob with the factory code "1-002" and "9 Mar 1987" manufacture date stamp on the back. The white-over-black knob with a baby-powdered "Bulldog" blade are tell-tale traits of one of Wayne’s sticks. Nice game use with no cracks or damage. Best is the bold blue signatures of The Great One and his talented teammates as they run down the length of the shaft. Included are the autographs of Andy Moog, Mark Messier, Glenn Anderson, Esa Tikkanen, Marty McSorley, Kevin Lowe and, of course, Wayne Gretzky with the added "99". Twenty-two have signed on the shaft with another adding his sig across a section of white tape added to the blade.
