Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016

We suspect that uncut sheet enthusiasts, along with Patrick Roy collectors, will be enticed with these colorful displays, the two 132-card sheets combining for a complete set of 1986-87 O-Pee-Chee cards. They look to have been stored rolled for quite some time, but when unrolled reveal a crease-free Roy rookie card, located near the middle of the second-to-last row from the bottom. Light surface scratches are spotted on it and several others on that sheet, with other notable cards including the rookies of Wendel Clark and John Vanbiesbrouck, along with pasteboards of superstars Gretzky, Lemieux and Yzerman. Wayne’s regular card is in the bottom row not far from the Roy RC and has a mark and a crease rising up from the bottom edge, while Mario’s second-year card is located in the bottom left corner, with several light surface scratches to report. The rather minor flaws won’t be all that noticeable if/when these are flattened out and displayed. What fun checking out uncut sheets is! A small tear in the upper right edge of the Roy sheet and creasing in the upper right corner is also to mention, while the other sheet is the condition leader, with less surface scratches present.
