Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Mario Lemieux’s 1985-86 rookie season was one of the most impressive debuts in NHL history.
Selected first overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1984 NHL Draft, Lemieux immediately
showcased his generational talent, scoring on his very first shift and setting the stage for a Hall
of Fame career. His rookie season saw him rack up 100 points (43 goals, 57 assists), earning
him the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league’s top rookie and solidifying his place as the
future face of the NHL.
Freshly graded at PSA, this lot includes two key Lemieux cards: the iconic 1985-86
O-Pee-Chee Mario Lemieux rookie card (#9) graded PSA 8 and the 1985-86 O-Pee-Chee
Rookie Scoring Leaders card (#262) also graded PSA 8.
