Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/23/2016
Well received among critics, The Game had important literary personalities singing its praises in 1983. A figure no less than Mordecai Richler wrote “Dryden has written a very special book, possibly the best hockey book I have ever read. His affectionate yet realistic portrait of the players is unrivalled in hockey writing.” This lot contains an uncorrected proof copy of The Game, along with a signed copy of Ken’s follow up Home Game. Originally intended for use by the publisher, the uncorrected proof copy of The Game is a soft-cover volume that remains in excellent condition, with just some toning taking place along the cover’s edges and spine. The copy of Home Game is a hard-copy edition with dust jacket, and it remains in beautiful condition, just showing light signs of handling. Dryden has signed on the title page in black ink including “2013”, and the signature is flawless. Quality signed Dryden items don’t’ make themselves available every day, so this lot is definitely a must have for any Habs, autograph or goalie collection.
