Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
An image of the Quebec Nordiques’ Peter Stastny, one of the top point-getters of the 1980s, (second only to Gretzky), graces the top of this alluring box of 1983-84 O-Pee-Chee hockey cards which features four dozen packs that could be had for a quarter apiece back in the day. Those days are gone, of course, replaced with the thoughts of gem mint grading possibilities. Cards of Gretzky, Messier, Wayne with Mark on the same card, Coffey, Bourque and rookie cards of Lindbergh, Stevens, Housley, Carbonneau, Nicholls, Naslund and others highlight the 396-card set’s lineup. Condition is attractive, with light wear at the corners and light creasing only evident on the back panel, while two fastening pieces of scotch tape are intact. Packs contain ten cards each, with the jackpot now sealed up with the shrink wrap of reputable unopened specialist Baseball Card Exchange. A BBCE hologram joins the company-identifying label on the bottom. From when Wayne...and Peter, were "priming".
