Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
The only hockey card release for the season as Topps elected to sit out for the year, the 1982-83 O-Pee-Chee set featured a checklist of 396-cards in all for its effort, which is paced by the key rookie cards of Dale Hawerchuk, Brent Sutter, Grant Fuhr, Neal Broten, Ron Francis, Joe Mullen and Thomas Steen as well as numerous other stars and future Hockey Hall of Fame inductees. Offered here, and spared from the hands of card hungry youngsters back in the day, is this lot consisting of an unopened wax pack of O-Pee-Chee's 1982-83 release which has been graded by the professionals at PSA. Featuring generic goalie imagery over the front of their blue coloured wrappers, the pack also displays "HOCKEY" in big bold yellow letters, the logos of O-Pee-Chee and the NHL and the original per-pack-purchase price of .25 cents. Featuring a total of ten (10) cards plus a stick of gum on the interior, the pack displays a "plastic gun with suction cup darts" promotional send away offer over their reverse. Having been inspected and encapsulated at PSA, earning a mark of NM-MT 8 for its effort, the pack is made even more desirable by the fact that the pack gives us a peek at a copy of Grant Fuhr's rookie card showing through the wrapper on the reverse. A POP 2 example with none graded higher out of the two (2) that PSA has graded over the years, the pack is housed in a good condition PSA holder. Don't miss out on this one for your all-important unopened portfolio!
