Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Fall 2022

A captivating offering is this 1979-80 O-Pee-Chee card that Ken Dryden autographed in bold blue ballpoint ink, the signature being authenticated by PSA and graded "9." Nine was just about the number of years that the legendary goalie's career spanned after he joined the Canadiens late in the '70-71 season, before backstopping Montreal to an unlikely and oh so memorable Stanley Cup championship. With one season ('73-74) taken off to work on his law degree, Dryden's without-parallel career summed up to six Stanley titles in just eight full seasons - remarkable! That Dryden did not personalize the autograph here is also rather remarkable and makes for a desirable scarcity, for sure. Corner wear contributes to render the card itself VG-EX but no creases affect the charming image. Some subtle light scratches to the PSA holder are to note. A terrific piece that will enhance your big-time Dryden shrine merits ample consideration.
