Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction - June 2009

Seldom seen example of an Orr stick handled during the last two seasons of an astonishing career. This pristine Victoriaville Pattern Pro has the trademark "ribbed" white tape job at the knob and a bare blade, typical of Bobby’s gamers from the period. The red/blue/gold accent striping is there near the blade and this one has "4" and "B. Orr" factory-stamped high up on the shaft. The white wrap at the handle is a light cream color from the heavily-oiled black tape underneath and the blade and lower shaft show light, but evident, game use. "Gunzo’s" is stamped on both sides of the shaft, identifying the team supplier to the Hawks during the period Orr was with Chicago (parts of the 1976-77 and 1977-78 seasons). A very nice stick, used by the greatest blueliner the game has ever seen.
