Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2015
Cool piece of Baltimore hockey history links both the AHL Clippers and the WHA Blades. 1974-75 game-worn jersey saw double duty with both teams and was likely worn in the WHA by Alain Caron, as per the outline of removed individual surname letters in the orange section on the upper back. Rawlings size 48 tagging sits in the back of the neck. Removed Blades logo crest was originally placed over the Clippers patch, which was glued and sewn on. There are five team repairs to the Clippers crest, another sewing fix on the right sleeve, a pair on the left sleeve, and a diagonal repair on the left back. Comes with an LOA.
Number 19 on the back and both sleeves are heatscreened black vinyl. More game wear shows in marks on the sleeves, front and back, and pilling inside the elbows.
According to the LOA these mesh jerseys were worn by the AHL Clippers and then used by the WHA Blades. When the WHA Blades folded, some of the jerseys were re-used by the Clippers and the Blades logos were removed to display the former Clippers logo.
