Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
An important historical item representing Canada’s hockey dominance, offered here is an extremely rare original ticket stub from Game 8 of the 1972 Summit Series between Canada and the Soviet Union, graded PR 1 by PSA. The holder of this ticket for the September 28th showdown at Moscow's Luzhniki Ice Palace was witness to Paul Henderson scoring with 34 seconds left in the third period, giving Canada a 6-5 win over the Soviets along with global bragging rights. The roughly 3” x 4 1/2” thin-stock ticket stub displays an uneven right side from being ripped at the venue entrance, with the "28" (date) fully visible along with Section 12, Row 24 and Seat 22. There are only seven tickets stubs from that game graded at PSA, three (3) are graded "authentic", three (3) are graded PSA 1 (one with a qualifier) and one (1) is graded PSA 1.5. Arguably the most important international game ever played by Canadians, this stub is ideal for any advanced Summit Series collection.
