Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2016

Truly a museum-worthy piece, offered here is an extremely rare original ticket stub from Game 8 of the 1972 Summit Series between Canada and the U.S.S.R. The holder of this ticket for the September 28, 1972 showdown at Moscow's Luzhniki Ice Palace certainly remembers where he/she was when Paul Henderson scored with 34 seconds left in the third period to give Canada a 6-5 win over the Soviets and secure global bragging rights. The 2 1/4" x 4 1/4" ticket stub itself displays a tear along the left edge that leaves the "28" in the date printed on paper stock plainly visible. Nicely preserved between a pair of Lucite slats held together by four screws to make a darling display. Condition is top notch with none of the creasing and crumpling we usually see on these thin-stock tickets from Moscow. This rarely seen Game 8 ticket stub represents one of the greatest moments in Canadian hockey history and is a must-have for any serious Summit Series collection!
