Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2015
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/17/2015
Three very infrequently seen/offered Summit Series items are included here, highlighted by a jaw-dropping full ticket to the series' finale. Yes, a full ticket to the historic September 28th, 1972 battle, decided by Paul Henderson and the most important goal ever scored in Canadian hockey history! Paper ticket has a 3/4” tear in the left edge and a fold line down the middle but what a piece to hold - imagine owning it. A mini flag/pennant, (4” x 6”), believed to have been received in a pre-game gift exchange in Moscow is another rarity, while a puck-sized souvenir crest is also an infrequent sighting and also well preserved. Completing is a big 2” in diameter souvenir copper coin held in a plastic case which indeed opens. Indeed, a very special ensemble from a defining, epic eight-game showdown.
