Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
Fantastic pieces of international hockey history are two ticket stubs from Game 4 of the iconic 1972 Canada-Russia Series in Vancouver. The Soviets regained the Summit Series lead with a 5-3 win over Team Canada on September 8, but the game is particularly remembered for Phil Esposito’s emotional speech to Canadian TV viewers that proved to be a rallying call for his teammates. The rest, as they say, is history. These two ticket stubs were for two side-by-side reserved seats for Game 4. Each stub measures 1 3/4” x 4 1/2” with colors that are slightly faded/pale. There is light damage to one of the tickets while the other has some damage to the printing on the back and paper lifting.
