Despite being viewed by sports writers as the inferior club from the inferior league, Joe Namath promised New York supporters a victory at Super Bowl III in 1969 and delivered, with the Jets crowned as world champions while the fledgling AFL gained respect. We offer a great football program and ticket stub collection of 13, highlighted by a Super Bowl III program and ticket stub. Included with the Super Bowl program, we have programs for the 1942 NFL All-Star Game (Jan 4, 1942, Cleveland vs All-Stars), a Cleveland Browns program from 1947 (vs the Yankees), a Philadelphia Eagles program from Oct 4, 1952 (vs the Giants) and a Browns program for the Nov 17, 1946 match vs Chicago. The ticket stubs include Super Bowl X from 1976, Super Bowl XIX from 1985 (2) and Miami Dolphins tickets for Dec 20, 1987 vs Washington (4).
The Super Bowl III program shows light handling wear, with just a minor crease to the cover along the upper right edge, with the ticket stub sporting a crease and light overall handling wear. The remaining programs show light to moderate wear, with the Browns program from 1947 coverless and in low grade.
