Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction February 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/20/2024
Quite possibly the greatest defenseman to ever play in the National Hockey League despite his relatively short career, Bobby Orr would win eight straight Norris Trophy’s and lead the Boston Bruins to two Stanley Cups before his retirement after only twelve (12) years and 657 games played. Offered here, we present this collection of Bobby Orr hockey cards totalling seven (7) that dates between 1968-69 and 1971-72. All having been inspected and slabbed by KSA, the group starts out with 1968-69 and 1969-70 O-Pee-Chee award winner cards of Orr's that recognize his winning of the Norris Trophy in 1967-68 and 1968-69, the first two of his eight. Having been assessed marks of EX 5 and ENM 6 respectively, the pairing is followed by 1970-71 Topps and O-Pee-Chee regular series offerings that both display grades of EX 5 that are joined by 1970-71 O-Pee-Chee Norris and Hart Trophy winner cards, both of which have earned marks of VGE 4 for their efforts. Lastly, to close out the group, is a copy of Orr's ever popular 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee card that has been assessed an EX 5 designation. All housed in KSA holders that remain in excellent condition and showcase just the odd light scratch or scuff, the collection is sure to be a welcome addition for any Orr/Bruins enthusiast!
It must be noted that the grading standards followed by KSA may not correspond to those currently employed by PSA, BGS or SGC. The outcome of an attempted cross-over of this piece through any of those services, then, would be uncertain and cannot be guaranteed.
