Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Of paramount importance to hockey collectors and on par with the greatest and most desirable cards ever produced including the 1911-12 C55 Georges Vezina rookie, 1951-52 Parkhurst Gordie Howe rookie and 1979-80 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Gretzky rookie, iconic defenseman Bobby Orr's rookie card remains a corner stone of the sport's all-time greatest memorabilia. We are pleased to offer a 1966-67 Topps Orr rookie graded an impressive NM 7 by PSA, with this from the much rarer "Test" set. Distributed only in the baseball-centric United States in limited quantities to see if it was a lucrative market for the great Canadian sport, the 66-card Test set differs from the regular Topps release with cards sporting lighter wood grain borders and just English text on the reverse as opposed to the regular English and French. The card displays beautifully for the grade, and it is awaiting an appreciative new collection. This pop-16 card is only bettered by 32 others on the PSA population report out of the 140 submitted to PSA over the years.
