Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Economics professors would surely concur that an excellent lesson about supply and demand can be taught/learnt with Bobby Orr's oh so coveted 1966-67 Topps rookie card. Simply, not enough supply for arguably the most in-demand hockey rookie card results in lofty realized prices when Orr RCs come to market. And is it any wonder? The way that Bobby dominated play on a sheet of ice and how he revolutionized his position are amazing. Luckily for those who are too young to have witnessed the phenom during his playing days, there is ample footage of his exploits. This writer's grade school son, when watching Orr highlights, had this to say, "Gee dad, it looks like the other team's players are not trying". They were trying of course, but Bobby seemingly overwhelmed them with ease! On the block here is an Orr rookie graded VG-EX 4 by PSA and encapsulated in a clean PSA holder. What a thought-provoking image of Bobby as a teenager!
