Always plenty to tell you about with a complete set of always-intriguing 1964-65 Topps cards, with this assembly attractive and loaded with EX-MT or better examples. Before we get to the juicy 2nd Series details, 1st Series entries include some 40 cards that are at least EX-MT, with Beliveau, Sawchuk and Bower among them and like the majority, EX-MT. The two unmarked checklists appear similar, although the tiniest of wrinkles in the top border of #54 holds it back. Five cards are EX+ (Mikita, Richard (MC)), with 1-Martin and Hall at EX and surface scratches and corner wear sending Hull to VG-EX and a crease rendering Ferguson VG+. Famous 2nd Series short prints include Dornhoefer RC, Rousseau and Hicke at EX-MT, Williams, Villemure and Nesterenko at EX+, Maki (EX), Horton AS (VG-EX+), Paille RC (VG-EX) and Pilote (VG), while Mikita AS (paper loss lower front) is technically low grade but otherwise EX. We count two dozen EX-MT or better other cards, including Plante, Mahovlich and Armstrong, while Howe, Horton, Keon, Hull AS and Hall AS are among (18) in the EX and EX+ range. The Pilote AS card is torn, but overall, rather uniform condition, with centering that varies and with over half of the set EX-MT or better.
