Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2020
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2020
Highly desirable and a “nod” to the Original Six era, we have a collection of six early-1960s bobble head dolls representing each of the Original Six-era clubs, including the extremely rare Boston Bruins doll. Each square base doll has “1962” on the underside, along with “Japan”. First, the Bruins example is in gorgeous condition, sporting a small surface chip to the head (it’s possible this is original to production) along with a bit of wear to the Bruins decal. Next, the Black Hawks doll shows light surface wear, including over the shoulders, with the head detached from the spring (despite this, it sits perfectly in place and displays wonderfully). This is followed by the Red Wings doll, with just a bit of surface wear exhibited including to the team decal, with a pair of hairline cracks at the base of the back of the head. The Leafs, Rangers and Canadiens dolls all show light surface wear, with some minor dirt/dust discolouration to the Leafs doll, with light chipping to the front of the base on the Rangers doll.
