Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
An all-time favourite premium with collectors and issued in three different sets over an eight-year period during the 1960s, with the second one being released during a year that ended with the Toronto Maple Leafs knocking off the Chicago Black Hawks for their first of three (3) straight Stanley Cup championships. Offered here, we present collection of six (6) glasses from the 1961-62 York Peanut Butter Glasses that picture players from the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings. All measuring 4 3/4" tall and slightly taller as well as narrower than the tumblers of the previous year, each is marked with a "D" on the bottom for the Dominion Glass Manufacturer. Including examples of Gordie Howe and Alex Delvecchio from Detroit, Henri Richard and Beliveau from Montreal and Dave Keon plus Tim Horton from Toronto, each features dual player imagery, along with a cartoon referee with listed infraction present as well. All remaining in overall excellent condition with just the odd slight blemish throughout (Beliveau has some fading), the glasses exhibits light wear along with a few minor surface scratches, but no large dings or chips.
