Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Stan Mikita wasn’t just a skilled playmaker—he changed the way the game was played. Known
for his elite play, Mikita dominated the NHL with the Chicago Blackhawks for 22 seasons,
winning four Art Ross Trophies as the league’s leading scorer and two Hart Trophies as its MVP.
He remains the only player in NHL history to win the Art Ross, Hart, and Lady Byng trophies in
the same season—a feat he accomplished twice. Mikita also pioneered the curved stick—after
accidentally discovering the effect of a broken blade—revolutionizing the way players handled
and shot the puck. His 1,467 career points (541 goals and 926 assists) make him the
Blackhawks’ all-time leader in both points and assists, cementing his status as the most
productive player in franchise history. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983, Mikita
remains one of hockey’s most innovative and respected figures.
Presented here is a 1960-61 Topps Stan Mikita rookie card, graded PSA 8. Out of the 458 copies submitted to PSA over the years, only six have ever been graded higher, placing this pop-58 card among the finest examples known to exist. The PSA holder is in solid condition, with minor scratches on the front and back. A significant piece of hockey history, this card pays tribute to a true icon of the game.
