Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
"Lushus" on the backs of each of the plastic discs stored in their original box is a good way to describe the condition of these delectable and ever-popular collectibles, with perhaps the coins having been handled and looked at only a handful of times. High grade coins are made all the more attractive given that the "souvenir" set was not available to the public. The belief is that these special sets, along with a wooden board to display them, were presented to NHL owners and managers in appreciation for their participation in the promotion. The odd very light scratch on the clear plastic "windows" is to report but it would be difficult to expect/ask for nicer. The team color-coded box exhibits light edge/corner wear, along with fading and a small hole at the end of "Detroit". Featuring the likes of Howe, Beliveau, Plante, Sawchuck, Hull, Mikita and the other Black Hawks who that season captured Lord Stanley's trophy, this superb set is sure to please.
