Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/7/2017
Parkhurst hockey card wrappers turn up oh so infrequently, with the 1959-60 specimen here exhibiting wonderful red, white and blue colors and having survived in inviting condition with no edge tears. We do spot a small hole where it would have wrapped around the lower left corner, but "so what" is what many collectors would say. Two examples of legendary Maple Leafs' defenceman Tim Horton's card #23 contribute to the lot, with the nicest off-centered but with bright bold colors and EX-MT+. The other has light corner wear, along with a tad bit of edge toning and grades VG-EX+. A nifty complement is card #50 from a non-hockey Parkhurst issue which shows action at the Indianapolis Speedway on the front, while the back lists the winners of the company's '59-60 Zip Hockey Contest. It's crease-free with subtle/light back damage. Will your name be added to our winners' list?!
