Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
One of the key and most desirable rookie cards of the post-war era is offered here and pictures hockey's greatest left winger as a teenager. Bobby Hull is described as "blond husky of brilliant promise" on the back of card #66 of Topps' 1958-59 issue. This example features less-than-perfect but stilling rather pleasing centering and has been deemed worthy of NM+ 7.5 status by the KSA grading firm. Two vertical greenish "lines" in the yellow background and close to the right border are visible and to be aware of, with similar but more subtle lines, also vertical affairs, to the left of Bobby's face. A subtle wax stain on the reverse is also to mention. Also intriguing is the comic on the reverse, informing of how Hull quit his high school football team to play big league hockey!
