Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction June 2025
Henri Richard had impossible shoes to fill as the younger brother of Maurice “Rocket” Richard—a legend whose name was already etched in hockey history by the time Henri laced up his skates. But Henri didn’t just step out of his brother’s shadow—he built a legacy of his own. Nicknamed “The Pocket Rocket” for his smaller frame and relentless speed, Henri played with a quiet intensity that made him indispensable to the Montreal Canadiens. Over 20 seasons, he became the heartbeat of the dynasty, winning a record 11 Stanley Cups—more than any other player in NHL history. His career totals of 1,046 points in 1,258 games reflect not just longevity, but consistent excellence. Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979, Henri Richard remains one of the most decorated and respected figures the sport has ever known. Offered here, we present this copy of Richard's desirable second (2nd) year card which has been graded by PSA to the tune of a high-grade NM 7 designation. Sporting good colours, sharp corners, smooth edges and clean surfaces that one would expect from an example of this grade, the front does show some light toning that is worth mentioning for accuracy. Housed in a PSA holders that remains in good condition but shows light imperfections over both sides, don't miss out on this one for your all-important vintage portfolio.
