Tops in importance/value in Topps’ gorgeous inaugural hockey card effort, card #8 features the number one player of the 1950s, with the card’s write-up on the back informing that Gordie Howe had been the NHL’s top point-getter the previous four seasons. After just eight of his 25 seasons with Detroit Gordie was described: "Regarded by many experts as the greatest Hockey Player of all-time." Beckett's raw card assessment - 5.0 - appears on the label, with two slits both front and back rendering it tamper-proof. The top corners are not viewable, with the blue bottom ones exhibiting light wear and no creases observed. Toning on the back is to note, with an apparent small stain near the middle. A beauty in any condition is Howe's first Topps card.
