The first of two seasons that witnessed the unique format of a First All-Star Team made up of reserves from American clubs taking on a Second All-Star Team that featured reserves from Canadian teams, the 1951 NHL All-Star Game took place at Maple leaf Gardens, on Oct 9. This would be only the fifth official NHL All-Star contest, with the match ending in a 2-2 draw. We have a rarely seen program from the notable game. At approx 6 ¾” x 10”, the 84-page booklet feature’s the combatants names over the cover along with the original 25 cent purchase price, with the center line-up intact. Loaded with wonderful period advertisements including from Spalding, Coca-Cola and St Lawrence Starch (Bee Hive), the program displays beautifully, with tight staples and just light handling wear to the spine.
