Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction April 2024
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2024
The premier set issued by Canadian company Parkhurst and difficult to find in high-grade condition due to the poor quality of cardstock that was used, the 1951-52 Parkies set of 105-cards featured the iconic first-year cardboard of HOFers such as Gordie Howe, Terry Sawchuk and of course, Maurice Richard with this copy of “Rocket’s” RC displaying a grade of PR 1 for its effort that was bestowed upon it from the inspectors at PSA. Featuring an image over the front that is off-center a bit from right-to-left, the card shows numerous heavy creases throughout its entirety as well as soft/rounded corners. Also exhibiting staining/glue residue over most of its reverse, overall the card is still an example of most of the most coveted in the hobby and is sure to be desirable for someone looking to add one of Rocket's rookie cards to their portfolio at a more reasonable price point. The PSA holder the card is housed in shows light scratches and scuffs over both sides that are worth noting for accuracy.
