Historical Hockey and Sports Memorabilia Auction Spring 2025
Milt Schmidt was the heart and soul of the Boston Bruins for over two decades, leaving an
indelible mark on the franchise and the NHL as a whole. Known for his two-way brilliance and
leadership, Schmidt centered the legendary “Kraut Line” alongside Woody Dumart and Bobby
Bauer, forming one of the most dominant and cohesive forward units in hockey history. Schmidt
led the Bruins to two Stanley Cup championships in 1939 and 1941 before enlisting in the Royal
Canadian Air Force during World War II, missing three full seasons at the height of his career to
serve his country. Schmidt’s dominance on the ice was underscored by his individual accolades.
He won the Hart Trophy as the NHL’s most valuable player in 1951, a testament to his
all-around excellence and leadership. He also captured the Art Ross Trophy as the league’s
leading scorer in 1940, further cementing his place among hockey’s elite. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1961 and remains one of the Bruins’ most storied legends.
This Milt Schmidt rookie card, graded PSA 8, is one of just 69 in this grade, with only 14 graded
higher out of 349 submissions to PSA over the years. The PSA holder is in solid overall
condition, with a few minor scratches on the front and back worth noting for accuracy.
