Surfacing far less often then their 1939-40 predecessors are sepia-toned ’40-41 O-Pee-Chee cards, the 5” by 7” productions looking impressive here in their big PSA holders. To mention in regards to the legends in our title are the high-ranking-at-PSA EX 5 examples of Turk Broda and Syl Apps, each edged on the PSA Population Report by just two others, with small amounts (10 or less) of most players ever submitted for encapsulation. The overall condition leader here at NM 7 is 113-Gus Marker, a Pop 1, with just one higher and only eight NM-MT 8s total among 450-some ’40-41s to have been PSA-slabbed). Two rookie cards at EX+ 5.5 (106-Quilty, 114-Singbush) are followed by a group of 12 at EX 5, the most noteworthy being Rangers 136-Lynn Patrick and 139-Davie Kerr and the last card, 150-Paul Goodman RC. Other EX 5s are 104-Adams, 107-Taylor, 115-Motter RC, 129-Douglas RC, 138-Bruneteau, 143-Hergesheimer RC, 144-Demers RC, 145-Wilder RC and 148-Chisolm RC. Completing the inviting stash that represents close to half of the 50-card set are 117-Langelle (VG-EX 4), two at VG 3 (133-Metz, 140-Heron) and two graded VG 3 by SGC; 109-Kampman and 120-Goupille, with the latter two holders exhibiting multiple scratches, similar to the holder of the Toe Blake card. A cracked/chipped lower left corner to the holder of the Elmer Lach RC is also to note, with obvious and less-obvious scratches observed in several of the other holders. In summary, an-infrequently-offered-in-quantity encapsulated group of intriguing relics is to seriously consider.
