Overtime Auction #10

Great opportunity here for those who have yet to secure a signature of the man who donated what would become known as the Stanley Cup. Two pieces cut from a note once penned by Lord Stanley of Preston were later pasted onto a page of an autograph book. The top section of the letterhead includes "Town Hall, Liverpool" and is dated "Sept 3/96" in fountain pen. From a time when Stanley had returned to England following his stint as Canada's Governor General, the bottom section was signed in fountain pen "Yours very truly, Derby." "Sixteenth Earl of Derby" was written on the autograph book page, between the two sections of paper. Fine signature of a legendary figure.
